Napoleon Astound SlimMount: Common Problems, When to Call a Tech and Manual

What this unit is
The Astound SlimMount is a current Napoleon wall-mount electric fireplace.
Error codes
These are the codes Napoleon lists for the Astound SlimMount (manual W415-10008313, troubleshooting table, pp.48-49). They're specific to this model. On the FlexMount, for example, E-1 means something different. This manual doesn't list a WIN (open window) code.

| OH | The unit overheated and its safety thermal switch tripped. | Unplug it or switch off its breaker, let it cool for 15 minutes, then plug it back in or switch the breaker on. If OH comes back, call a tech. |

| E-2 | Blower error. | Call a tech. The manual gives no owner fix for this code. |
| E-3 | Heater error. | Call a tech. The manual gives no owner fix for this code. |
Common problems
- The remote stops working. Put fresh batteries in the remote first. It's the most common, and the cheapest, fix.
- Nothing happens at all. Check that it's plugged in (or that its breaker is on) before anything else.
- A code shows on the display. Look it up in the error code table above before you try anything else.
When to call a tech
- Smoke, a burning smell, or a hot cord or plug (turn it off and unplug it or switch off the breaker first)
- The same code or shutdown keeps coming back
- The breaker trips when the fireplace runs
